FAQs About VASER® Shape

A Unique Non-Invasive Body Shaping Treatment
www.vaser.com

What is VASER Shape?
VASER Shape is a non-invasive treatment that combines ultrasound and massage to smooth, firm and shape the body and reduce the appearance of cellulite. VASER Shape is safe and effective on both males and females and reshapes the body without pain or downtime.

How does it differ from other non-invasive treatments?
VASER Shape treatments are warm, soothing, and comfortable with no pain, needles, or additional diet and exercise plans necessary. Many patients also see visible results after just a single, one hour treatment, so you do not have to wait weeks or months to see your results.

What does non-invasive mean?
Non-invasive means no cuts, no incisions, and no surgery, which typically means there is little-to-no recovery period and few side effects.

How does VASER Shape work?
VASER Shape is a two part treatment that involves both ultrasound and massage. First the ultrasound energy warms the targeted area and treats the underlying fatty tissue causing the contents of the fat cells to leak out. Then the zonal massage helps to increase local blood circulation, open lymph nodes and encourage the body to remove excess fat. Together, these two processes:
  • Smooth, firm, and shape the body
What body areas can be treated with VASER Shape?
VASER Shape can be used to treat the following areas:
  • Reduce the appearance of cellulite
  • Abdomen
  • Love Handles
  • Back
  • Arms
  • Hips
  • Buttocks
  • Thighs
  • Knees
Where is VASER Shape performed?
VASER Shape is typically performed in a physician's office.

What kinds of results can I expect?
You can expect to see improvement in the problem area treated and a reduction in the appearance of cellulite. Areas treated with VASER Shape appear smoother and firmer than before the treatment.

Does VASER Shape require anesthesia?
VASER Shape does not require anesthesia of any kind.

How soon will I see my results?
While you may see results after the first treatment, patients typically see the most visible results after a regimen of three to five sessions.

Is there a recovery period?
No. Following the treatment, you may resume normal activities without pain or downtime. Your skin may appear slightly pink and feel warm after the treatment due to the increased local blood circulation in the area. This should resolve itself within a few hours after the treatment.

Is VASER Shape right for me?
Although VASER Shape can be used on a wide range of patients, you should be realistic about the kinds of results you can expect from the treatment. We recommend consulting with a physician to make sure that VASER Shape is right for you.

How much does the treatment cost?
The total cost of your treatment will vary depending upon the number of body areas treated and the total number of sessions required to achieve your desired results.

Laser Hair Reduction

What is Laser Hair Reduction?
Laser or light energy is selectively absorbed by the melanin in hair follicles and converted to heat, diffusing to and injuring stem cells in the bulb and bulge. Effective hair reduction can only be achieved during the active growth phase and hair reduction is considered permanent when a significant amount of hair does not return for a period of time longer than the complete growth cycle. After a series of treatments, most hair is permanently removed. However, if hair does regrow it will be finer and lighter than before.

How many treatments can I expect to have performed for best results?
A series of 5 treatments will yield the optimal results for any area on the body. Treatments will be done at intervals of 4-6 weeks each. There are three phases of hair growth — anagen, catagen, and telogen. Only hairs in the active growth phase, anagen, can be successfully treated. Facial hair for women is controlled by hormone production. In the case of facial hair you may need to have maintenance treatments done periodically to keep your results.

What should I expect after treatment?
Some redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated; however, this should subside within a few hours. If any prolonged redness or swelling occurs consult your physician. Keep the treated area clean, use at least SPF 15 sunscreen when outdoors, and follow physician instructions.

Is there a risk of complications?
Temporary pigmentation changes are possible but seldom occur. Always discuss your concerns with your physician prior to your treatment.

Can tan skin be treated?
We recommend a consultation to evaluate your skin tone. We strongly encourage to have this treatment done when your skin as at it's most pale point. The laser is attracted to pigment, whether that is the pigment in your hair or your skin.

Will it be uncomfortable?
The procedure is gentle, non-invasive, and safe. There should be minimal or no discomfort, however this varies from patient to patient and depends on the depth of the treatment. There is no need for a topical anesthesia; however, your physician may choose to use one on more sensitive areas. Your physician will recommend the best options during consultation.

Your physician will discuss all of your options with you.

What is ProFractional?
ProFractional is a quick and comfortable laser procedure with little to no downtime, used for improving the overall appearance of your skin. • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Post-traumatic scars
  • Acne scars
  • Age spots

  • Aging and sun-damaged skin

How does the ProFractional laser work?
ProFractional uses laser energy to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin which are surrounded by areas of healthy, untreated skin. The zones of untreated skin invigorate the body's natural healing process, and the treated areas stimulate production of new collagen, plumping up the skin and smoothing out wrinkles, lines, scars and other irregularities.

Who should consider a ProFractional treatment?
If you are looking for younger looking skin, or to improve scars, wrinkles, or sun damage in a comfortable treatment with a fast recovery, then you may be an ideal candidate for ProFractional. Ask your physician if ProFractional is right for you.

What areas can be treated?
Most skin areas can be treated. Popular areas are the face, neck, chest and hands. You should discuss your needs with your physician.

What is a ProFractional procedure like?
ProFractional is a fast, comfortable procedure done in your physician's office. The procedure normally takes 15 - 30 minutes depending on the condition and the size of the area treated. A numbing cream may be applied in advance to aid in comfort during the procedure.

How many ProFractional treatments will I need?
ProFractional is typically done in a series of 1 - 4 treatments, spaced 3 - 6 weeks apart, depending on your needs. Your physician will personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire. Your physician may also combine ProFractional with a MicroLaserPeel or other popular aesthetic procedures to further enhance your treatment results.

What should I expect after treatment?
Immediately following the procedure you may experience a mild redness, resembling a light sunburn sensation. Complete healing takes only about 1 - 3 days and most patients can get back to work and apply makeup within 1 - 2 days after the treatment.

What special after-treatment care will I need?
It is important to follow your physician's instructions which may include some skin care products and instructions on how to use them. Your skin will be more sensitive to ultra-violet light after the procedure, so you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. You should always use some level of sun protection to avoid sun damage and premature aging of your skin.

Sun exposure until fully healed. Fully cover your skin or use a good sun screen whenever you go outdoors.

Nail Fungus Treatment

Nail Fungus Among Us!
One half of all Americans over the age of 40 have it.

This condition known as Onychomycosis or nail fungus usually shows as a yellow thickening of the nail. There are a few different treatments available (applying Clorox, Vicks VapoRub, vinegar, Listerine, tea tree oil, or over the counter anti-fungal creams) but they only have an 8% success rate. Oral medications may be damaging to the liver, and surgery to remove the nail may not be a desirable option.

After years of poor results in treating the highly contagious disease a new option has come available. A series of Laser treatments prove to be easy, painless, and keep the nail intact. No treatment to date is 100% effective, but laser treatments have revealed very promising results. The laser light passes safely through the nail, targeting, heating and effectively destroying the fungus. Wearing your favorite open toe shoes may be an option once again!
